TEST LEAD | TEST MANAGER & PROJECT QUALITY ANALYST




ROLE PURPOSE


The ERP Test Lead / Test Manager will assume responsibility for the ERP Testing Strategy and Approach for a global organisation who are embarking on a D365 implementation.


The role holder will also support the Project Manager by providing PMO administration support across the global ERP programme. We envisage the split to be 60% Test Lead duties and 40% PMO / Project Admin.


Key stakeholders - Process Leads, Business Users, Project Manager, IT leadership, ERP Steering Committee, Group Execs, Group Internal Audit.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support the preparation of realistic project and quality plans and track activities against the plans, providing regular and accurate reporting to all key stakeholders.

  • Own the testing strategy definition and execution for the ERP project (automated vs manual, what to leverage from existing solutions, positive and negative testing, standard use cases vs exception use cases, etc).

  • Support the project manager with various project activities including planning, estimating scope, gate review definition, resource planning (organisation and 3rd parties), schedules, project milestones, cost estimation, risks & issues, progress and PMO reporting.

  • Review all existing methods & tools (M&T) used in a blueprint ERP project (U.S.) and  improve these as required. Determine with the PM which of these M&T solutions to include in this project (subsequent locations) whilst maintaining relevant digital links back to the U.S. project.

  • Review and track project deliverables.

  • Support the PM with maintenance of the RAID log,  identifying risks & issues associated with projects through appropriate and regular reviews and developing corresponding mitigations.

  • Maintain and monitor the MS Teams & ADO environment/toolsets to ensure they are being used appropriately and fully by the wider project team.

  • Establish appropriate documentation standards to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented. Develop forms and templates to be used  to document all project activities and deliverables.

  • Implement an appropriate document file structure to ensure all project documentation is secure, available, and accessible by the project team and key stakeholders.

  • Establish a communication schedule to update the different stakeholder groups on the progress of the project.

  • Review the quality of the work completed within the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards.

  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.

  • Define and implement appropriate measures for tracking the business benefits post go live.

  • Produce plans, schedules and reports on activities related to the project.

  • Support the various teams within the project (Organisation and 3rd party implementation partner) to deliver against the agreed plan.


KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


  • Experience in a Senior Test, Test Lead, Test Manager, ERP Test Manager role.

  • Ability and willingness to split the Test role with PMO / PQA responsibilities.

  • ERP Test Management Experience – Test Methodologies and Tools, Automated Testing, SIT/UAT/Regression Test Experience, Reporting strategies, etc).

  • A proven track-record supporting large business and IT projects.

  • Strong Methods and Tools experience for software projects (Waterfall/Agile/Hybrid, PM software, development management software, software documentation approaches etc).

  • Experience in working with offshore vendor management experience.

  • Experience and knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.

  • A high-level understanding of Information Systems concepts and practices.

  • Strong organisational, time management, negotiation, and leadership skills.

  • Mature inter-personal skills in all dealings with users, staff, and suppliers, along with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.

  • Experience of MS Dynamics 365 - highly desirable.

  • Azure Dev Ops for Project Task Management - desirable.

TERM:   18 MONTH FTC WITH POTENTIAL TO TURN PERMANENT


START:   JANUARY 2025 OR SOONER


TRAVEL:  GLOBAL TRAVEL WILL BE REQUIRED


BASED:  PONTEFRACT, OR POTENTIALLY SHEFFIELD, BARNSLEY
