I have partnered with a long standing client in the midlands to lead the search for this newly

created Head of Architecture role. I am looking for a Senior Architect / Head of Architecture to

lead a growing IT architecture practice and support the client’s large-scale transformation

efforts. As the role holder, you will define and deliver the future technology vision, leading the

development of a value proposition, and act as key communicator for the practice. You will also

be responsible for prioritising and developing the overall enterprise architecture approach for the

business and communicating the architectural direction.


REPORTING TO


The role holder will report to the CIO and will be part of the IT leadership team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


● Lead and grow a high-performing architecture team (currently a mix of permanent and

contract).

● Provide strategic direction and technical leadership.

● Own the IT architecture, ensuring it supports and aligns with the overall technology and

business operating models.

● As a member of the senior leadership team you will engage across the directorate and

various business units, and assist in developing and maintaining corporate culture

across the group.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE


● Proven experience as a Senior / Lead / Enterprise Architect or Head of.

● Demonstrable team management and leadership experience.

● Coaching, mentoring, performance management, recruiting.

● Deep knowledge of business ecosystems.

● Software as a Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

● Platform as a Service (PaaS).

● Service-oriented architecture (SOA).

● Application programming interfaces (APIs).

● Open Data,

● Microservices.

● Event-driven IT and predictive analytics.

● Deep understanding of business models and operating models.

● Commercially minded with experience of cost-benefit analysis, budgets, and risk

management.

● Excellent communication skills.


DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE


● A Computer Science or related degree.

● Experience in the manufacturing or logistics industry would be desirable.


LOCATION


Leicestershire.


HYBRID / FLEXIBLE WORKING


Hybrid working, with minimum two to three days per week in the office.
